Episode 01

Series intro: Why share power with young people?

Welcome to our new series, which focuses on the shift amongst youth organisations and funders towards sharing power with young people, drawing on our work with The Listening Fund which aims to make the youth sector more accountable to young people.

In this episode we explain why we’ve made this podcast, give an overview of what we’ve learned about why and how organisations are involving young people in their work - with clips from some of the brilliant guests you’ll hear from in the following six episodes.

In addition to guests you’ll hear from in the next 6 episodes, in this episode we also speak with:

  • Henrietta Imoreh, Participation Officer at Become, the charity working shoulder to shoulder with care-experienced young people to create change.

    On X @Become1992

  • Lamesha Ruddock, Co-Executive Director of Boundless Theatre, and Creative Director of Blemme Fatale Productions, a theatrical and events producing company with a focus on weaving Black Diasporic historical research throughout the creative process to create authentic and representative theatre and cultural events.

On IG @blemmefataleproductions and on X @FATALEBLEMME.
